1st Giveaway!

Today I am pleased to be hosting my first giveaway!  Since I only started my blog in Dec. I do not have any sponsors yet but I still wanted to offer something to my readers as a way to say thank you for reading and commenting on my blog.  I appreciate each and every one of you and the time you take to read my blog, it means alot.

As well as having a love of fashion I am also a bit crafty.  I do some scrapbooking and in the winter I spend some of my time knitting.  So for this giveaway I am giving away one of my hand knit scarves.  It is a very soft circular scarf and a scarf is a great way to change up a look.

Here is a photo of what it looks like on with the scarf wrapped around my neck twice.

Little Black Dress #2

This is the 2nd little black dress that I have featured on my blog.  The first one was a few weeks back from this post.  I have way to many little black dresses, but they are just so easy to wear and so appropriate for multiple situations.  They are great for work and for going out after work, as well they are so easy to add colour to.

I put a sweater over this dress as this was a cold winter day here in the east coast of Canada, and in the winter often times fashion gets covered up by sweaters.  I am really looking forward to spring arriving so I can wear my clothes without multiple layers.
Sweater - RW&Co, Dress - Gap, Shoes - Aldo, Tights - Anne Klein, Bracelets - Smart Set
How many little black dresses do you own?  Do you think a girl can have too many?  I think I have about 5 or 6. Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for a giveaway on Monday! Have a great weekend and if you live on the east coast stay safe in all this snow.

Ballet Slippers

Dance is something I love.  I have been taking dance lesson since I was 3.  Four years ago I started taking ballet and fell in love with that dance form.  Before that I had done pretty much all other styles of dance, and when I started ballet it was difficult, but I really do enjoy it.  So when I saw these shoes, I instantly fell in love as they remind me of my beautiful pointe shoes.  For me they are the perfect footwear as I love to be in the dance studio but I always can't be; so these will be a great addition to my wardrobe, helping me combine 2 of my loves, dance and fashion!

We are also very lucky here in Saint John as a new shoe store will be opening up town March 7th, the Urban Shoe Myth and they will be carrying these shoes!!  I will definitely be buying these.  I am so excited for their store to open, not only so I can buy these shoes, but to see what other lovely footwear they will be carrying.  Be sure to check them out

Suiting Up

Or at least that is what Barney would say from the tv show "How I met your mother".  I really do love this suit, it is perfect to pair with pretty much any colour tank to give it that pop of colour.  I also love the belt detailing at the waist.  This was also a work outfit and perfect for that professional setting.

The belt on this suit is great as it can be worn with many of my other outfit pieces and you may have seen me wearing it with this suit on Valentine's day.  Also, surprisingly when I bought this suit I didn't think it would be that warm.  However, it is my warmest suit for winter, it doesn't feel bulky but definitely is perfect for winter.

Suit - Suzy Shier, Tank - Smart Set, Tights - Anne Klein, Shoes - Aldo
Today in the mail I also received my prize from the Brooklyn Thread giveaway from Kate's blog.  These earrings are even more gorgeous in person, so be sure to check them out here.  All of their items in their shop are fabulous.  Thanks again to Kate and Brooklyn Thread for teaming up for the great giveaway.  I can't wait to wear them!  Thanks for stopping by and hope you are all staying warm on this Windy Wednesday!

Tropical Tuesday - DR

Ahh...warm weather....sandy beaches...sunshine. I wish I was back in Dominican Republic.  These photos are from march break 2009 in Punta Cana at the Bahia Principe.  Such a great resort, but it is very large, so not the greatest for walking in heels, but I managed.
We took these pictures in the lobby of the hotel before we went to the Japanese restaurant.  Unfortunately the lighting wasn't the best.  However, the restaurant was very good!  They do all the cooking on a grill right in front of you; all of the food was so fresh.  We are hoping we will get to experience a restaurant like that again.  And our chef was very entertaining, doing things such as throwing an egg into his chef's hat and it didn't break.

Dress - Kohl's, Pashmina - Le Chateau, Shoes - Naturalizer, Bracelet - Thrifted
I would like the thank my Dad for taking these pictures of us and for taking 3 pictures to make sure we got my full outfit in.  Thanks Dad!  Hope you are all having a great Tuesday and perhaps enjoying some tropical weather where you are!

A Perfect Day

I am so lucky to have my family so close to me.  My sister lives in the town next to mine, about 20 minutes away.  She is a great shopping partner and is always up for a fabulous afternoon of shopping.  This particular saturday was the perfect day for this, it was so nice out I was able to get out and take some outfit photos as well as we were able to walk around the boutiques uptown without freezing while going from shop to shop.

After we were done our shopping that afternoon we also met up with Chelsea, to give her, her package from Lulus.com and we got to chat over coffee.  It was so great to meet her.  She is another fabulous local blogger who has a great giveaway going on right now for any local girls to the Silver Daisy Designs Fashion social happening on March 3rd, be sure to enter the contest here.

Jeans - !It Jeans, Boots - Steve Madden, Top - Covet, Bracelets - Smart Set
This outfit was perfect for this day of shopping.  It was comfortable and easy to move in.  I also love this top, it is so versatile, it can be worn as a shirt and I have also worn it as a dress.  This was an awesome winter day, I am looking forward to more warm days like this one and ones filled with shopping!  Also yesterdays 'Out with the Old, in with the New' at Rhoda's was a great success!!  Sold quite a few of my items and it was great to see so many local ladies.  Have a great Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Black & Blue

Ahh, Fridays....I love Fridays for so many reasons:  casual day at work, pizza night with hubby and the weekend!  This outfit is a casual Friday outfit I wore a couple of weeks ago.  I love this shirt as you can pair it up with jeans or leggings, such a comfy outfit!  The shirt is made by Dex and I purchased it at Je Suis Prest Boutique here in town.

One of my favorite details of this tunic is the button that holds up the cuff on the sleeve.  This is great for me when I am teaching all day because I don't have to worry about the rolled up cuffs falling down as I move around alot when I am working.

Shirt - Dex, Jeans - !It Jeans, Boots - Steve Madden
I hope you all enjoy your Friday and have a wonderfully warm weekend!  We are supposed to go up to 4 degrees celcius here, I can't wait for warmer weather!

I will also be at Rhoda's this Sunday for Out with the Old in with the New, to sell some of my last season's clothing.  You can check out all the details here on facebook.  It is a great way to get some new pieces for your wardrobe.  I am looking forward to it!  Hope to see some of you lovely ladies there!!  As well, stay tuned as I am working on a giveaway for my wonderful readers.  Happy Friday!!

Citron

These shoes are just gorgeous!!!  I love the green colour(citron) of these shoes and can't wait for spring to come so I can wear my heels similar to these!

These shoes are made by Diane Von Furstenberg and are available at shopbop.com for $275.00.  I won't be adding these shoes to my wardrobe anytime soon, but a girl can dream!!  Another feature I love about these shoes is that the satin ankle tie is detachable.  They are also available in other colours: black, mushroom and sea dust.  These shoes are a great way to add some colour to an outfit and a feminine touch with the bow.  I will certainly be on the lookout for shoes similar to this!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great Thursday!

Snow Day

Living in the Eastern part of Canada, we get alot of snow storms in the winter.  Anything that comes up the coast or across the county gets us here in New Brunswick.  Because of this, we get a few snow days every year.  This outfit is the one I was wearing on this particular snow day.  I love to wear things like this on these days and be curled up on the couch drinking tea and watching movies!  It is nice to be able to sit inside and watch the snow fall.

This tank top is one of my boxing day purchases and I was waiting for the right day to wear it.  This tank doesn't fit into my work wardrobe or it would have been worn much sooner.  The thing I love about it is that it is so soft and the metal detailing with the chain on the front is very different from anything else I have in my closet.  I am also wearing a pair of True Religion jeans that I got in Vegas last summer.  They are really long for me and the nicest jeans I have ever worn.  I have a 36" inseam and when I found these I had to buy them as it is very hard for me to find jeans/pants long enough.

Jeans - True Religion, Sweater - Dex, Tank - Gentlefawn
As you can see in the background, we certainly have lots of snow.  That is just the snow on our deck.  It has drifted and blown a bit, but on the next warmer day we need to go out and shovel some of it off.  Have a great Wednesday!!  Stay tuned for my weekly shoe post tomorrow!

Tropical Tuesday - Vegas Style!

My hubby and I went to Vegas for the first time 2 summers ago for my sister's wedding.  We instantlly fell in love with the city!  We enjoyed ourselves so much we started watching for deals and ended up going back and spending a week in July last summer.  While we were there, we made a trip to the outlet malls where I purchased a pair of Guess Stillettos that I featured in last Thursday's post.  I fell in love with these shoes and had to wear them that week.
The dress that I am wearing is from Florida.  I had purchased it while I was there for a conference a couple of weeks before we went to Vegas.  These photos were all taken on the strip by the Venetian, after we came back from the MGM Grand and seeing the Cirque du Soliel show KA.  It was a fabulous show that is inspired by martial arts.  The photos below are of me and my sister, as she and her husband came on the trip too.

Shoes - Guess, Dress - Papaya, Purse - Vera Wang

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate everyone of my readers!  Have a great Tuesday!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's everyone!!!  Beside today being Valentine's, Mondays are always a busy day.  A start to a new week, things to get ready for the week at work, and my dance classes start again for the week.  On Monday nights I teach tap dancing, and one of my classes is for 6-10 year olds, so we are having a bit of a Valentine's party tonight, it should be fun.  I know the girls are excited for it.  I have spent the weekend making valentine's for each girl in the class as I also have a love of scrapbooking.  This was my work outfit for Valentine's day, looking back at it now I should have worn something red or pink, however the weather here is so cold it really wasn't allowing me to wear any of my cute red/pink clothing at the moment.

The thing I love about this suit is the neutral colours that are in it allow you to wear any colour you would like under the blazer.  Today I opted for a white sweater to keep warm.  I cannot wait for spring and for all this snow to go away.
Blazer, Belt & Pants - Suzy Shier, Shoes - Aldo, Sweater - Forever 21
My hubby and I celebrated Valentine's day on Saturday evening by goingn out to a local restaurant here in town called Thandi.  It was our first time going there, it was so much fun and the food was delicious.  We will definitely be going back.   I hope you all have a great Valentine's day!

Buttons and Bows

This is not the most glamourous or fancy outfit, but it is a comfortable look that I love for work.  This black sweater is wool and was so warm for this cold winter day.  I also love the bow detail at the neckline on the purple top.  I need to learn how to tie a better bow with this, does anyone have any tips or suggestions for this?

This shirt is one of the first purple shirts I purchased last year, in an effort to work more colour into my outfits.  I also love how the buttons on the sweater match the buttons on my pants and they were bought from 2 different stores at different times.  As I look back through my posts, I realize I need to stop wearing so much black and get more colour into my winter wardrobe.

Sweater & Top - RW&Co., Pants - Suzy Shier, Shoes - Aldo

I apologize for all the indoor photos, our winter here in Canada this year is not really cooperating for outside photos.  I did get a chance to take some outside photos on the weekend and will post those soon.  I hope you are all having a great Friday and have a fabulous weekend.

Stellar Stilletos

Last summer my hubby and I went to Vegas and part of our trip is always hitting up the outlet malls.  We hit up the Premium Outlets and at Guess I fell in love with a pair of stilletos similar to the ones pictured below.  Now the ones below have a bow on the back and mine don't, this is the only picture close to mine that I could find.
Shoes - Guess

These shoes, which I wore with an outfit in Vegas, make you feel so gorgeous when you wear them.  I really want all this snow to melt so I can get them out again.  They look fabulous but are not great for doing lots of walking.  I wore these in Vegas to a Cirque show and then we proceeded to walk around the strip for the remainder of the night.  I ended up with blisters on the bottom of my feet, but they were only $30, I felt fabulous and would do it all over again in a heartbeat.  The outfit that I paired these shoes with will be featured in my next tropical Tuesday post.  So when it comes to shoes, in my opinion, it isn't always about comfort but about how the shoes look and how they make you feel.  So if you love the shoes, buy them!  Thanks for stopping by!

Turnaround Day

Turnaround days at school are always busy.  Getting all the materials ready for the next semester, meetings, and doing report cards up from first semester courses.  I had a meeting on this day so I felt this outfit would be perfect for it.  This is more of a spring/summer dress, but paired with the blazer worked perfect for this winter day.
Before stepping outside, I realized just how cold it was and decided to add this C'est Moi scarf that I picked up at Je Suis Prest boutique.  This scarf was the perfect accessory that kept me warm all day.  The dress, is quite a few years old, and I was so happy I found it again when I was going through my closet for Out with the Old and in with the New that is taking place at Rhoda's on Feb. 20 ( I will have a table there!).  I am glad I found it again and want to work it back into my wardrobe as it is great for work.

Dress - Smart Set, Blazer - H&M, Belt - Le Chateau, Legging - Gap, Boots - Steve Madden

Have a great Wednesday!!
