Beacher

Blowfish shoes is a a new shoe site I found through Tieka of Selective Potential when she had a giveaway on her blog from them.  I have fallen in love with their shoes but there was a particular pair that I have been swooning over ever since browsing their site.  When I first saw the beacher wedge I loved the texture of the canvas and the light tan colour.  Reminds me of the beach and all the summery things we get to wear!
I love the bow detail on the back as well as the peep toe and the peep on the side.  These shoes retail for $59.00 at Blowfish shoes.  Perfect for that fresh summer look!  I feel these shoes could also be carried into fall/winter with a pair of tights.  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check back tomorrow for part 2 of the uptown adventure!

Uptown Adventure Part 1

Sunday was a beautiful sunny day but it was very chilly.  I set off at 10am to meet the lovely Emma of Darling Dilemma for an uptown photo shoot.  It was very windy, but we were still able to get some wonderful outside pictures.  The little jacket over this cute dress I got at ModCloth, did help a bit and we did get a few shots in without my jacket, but we did them quickly!

Dress - ModCloth, Shoes - Lovely People, Jacket - RW &Co., Bracelet - H&M, Ring - Dominican Republic, Tights - Plush

After shooting outside for a bit we decided to grab some brunch at Cora's and get warmed up.  We had a wonderful time chatting and even got to see the wonderful Barb for a few minutes.  After brunch we headed over to the pedway between Brunswick and Market Square and took a few photos there.

For anyone who knows me, knows I have a huge love of shoes!  One of my ideas was to have my picture taken with all my shoes (well most of them).  Here I am on the steps of City hall with all my shoes.  I wonder what Mayor Court would think of all my shoes?
In this shoot I also had the honour of modelling a few of Emma's pieces.  Her work is so gorgeous!!  Each of the beads are so unique and in her black heart necklace she even made a few of the beads!  The pieces that I got to model are below, be sure to check these out and all of the rest of her gorgeous work in her etsy shop.

And now for some exciting news.....

Emma has been so kind to offer my readers 10% off their entire order (sale items included) using the code: SIGHGUSH. This promo is good until the end of April!  She also has a special promo on until Sunday (April 3rd) - free shipping with the code: 4FREE.  Be sure to check out her shop!  I have my eye on a pair of earrings!   Be sure to check back on Friday for part 2 of the uptown adventure!  Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

Tropical Tuesday - Buffet

These photos are also from our trip this March break to the Dominican Republic.  This night was about halfway through the week after we returned from our tour.  We just decided to eat supper at the buffet that night as it was a busy day but exciting to be touring around the local area.
Here are some of the delicious desserts at the buffet at this resort....

It was also great to have my sisters with us on this trip.  We love to shop together and it was fun to be on a beach vacation with them.  It is also great because we have a lot of the same tastes and pretty much wear the same size clothing.
Here is also a picture of my hubby and I after our long day.  In this picture, we were spending some time in the garden bar at this resort enjoying some fabulous drinks.  Hope you are all having a great Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check back tomorrow for photos from the uptown shoot with Emma and a special offer!

Monday Madness

Monday's are crazy days.  First day back to work, getting back into routine, work all day, math help afterschool and then teaching dance until 9pm.  However, it is a fresh start with lots of exciting things to come.  The pink Nine West shoes in this picture remind me of my pink tap shoes that I wear to teach dance every Monday.  It is starting to get busy in my dance world as we are getting close to recital season and trying to finish everything up.

I am also trying to get to know my camera a little bit better and my blog as well.  I have figured out the size I need to make my photos so they are almost as wide as my blog, but I still need to experiment with the best settings for the photos because when I upload them they are clear and then when I resize they become blurry.  Anyone have any tips on how to make my photos not so blurry after resizing?

I also went on an adventure uptown in the cold on Sunday with the lovely Emma of Darling Dilemma.  I cannot wait to share the outcome of our cold photoshoot in uptown Saint John.  She was so great to work with and we also got a chance to chat and have a lovely brunch.  Watch for that post on Wednesday!  Hope you are all having a wonderful start to your week!

Typical Friday

Our typical Friday consists of starting with work and dress down day, then afterwork we usually have pizza and go grocery shopping.  This outfit is no exception, it is a casual Friday outfit that I wore all day at work(including the heels).  My feet did hurt by the end of the day but I love the way these shoes look and  I even wore them to the grocery store.

The thing that helps me be able to wear these boots is the platform.  I also love the flower, however I have learned I need to be very careful with them as one of the flowers has already fallen off and I had to sew it back on.  You may remember these shoes from this shoe post and the great deal I got on them at Marden's.

Jacket - Smart Set,  Top - RW&Co., Jeans - !iT Jeans, Boots - Kelsi Dagger, Bracelet - H&M

Well I am off to work for Friday, I am very much looking forward to the weekend.  Tommorrow the day will be spent getting my hair done and doing some shopping with my sister.  Then on Sunday I have something special going on and I can't wait to share with you the outcome of it on here.  Do you have anything special planned for the weekend?  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thanks again for all your sweet comments this week!

Red Bows

Red - a colour I seem to be gravitating towards this season.  Heels - the only thing in my shoe collection besides my flip flops/sandals.  So when my sister Carla sent me these shoes they instantly made me swoon.  I have been lusting over them ever since.  She certainly knows my shoe style and she is also a great enabler when it comes to shopping.

These shoes are suede and made by Steve Madden.  They are also availabe in taupe and black.  These fabulous heels are available on Zappos.com and are currently on sale for $97.46!  Zappos.com is a great website that I ordered shoes from as a Christmas gift for my sister, and they offer free shipping both ways! (in case you need to retun or exchange)  When searching for a new pair of shoes to order they are one of the first sites I go to!

Also this weekend my sister and I are making our first trip to the Urban Shoe Myth to check out all their awesome footwear. Somehow I have a feeling I am going to fall in love with that store.  Enjoy your Thursday!

Plaid

Plaid is something I never thought I would wear, especially to work.  When I used to think of plaid I always thought of my dad's hunting clothing.  However, seeing how other style bloggers are working with it inspired me to purchase this jacket for work this fall.

This jacket is great because it can be worn across most of the seasons.  It is felt like material, so it may be too warm for summer, but it is perfect for spring, winter and fall.

Jacket - Dynamite, Pants - Suzy Shier, Shoes - Aldo, Turtleneck - Gap, Bracelet - H&M

This jacket is something that I really liked when I purchased it, but now I am having mixed feelings about it.  Not sure if I will keep it or not for next season.

What is your favorite plaid look/piece of clothing?

Tropical Tuesday - Steak Restaurant

When we go on our vacations south, the resorts always offer a la carte meals to you.  These pictures are from our trip south this March Break to Dominican Republic.  This night we were eating at the resort's (Majestic Colonial) steak restaurant.

We were looking forward to a great steak and potatoes meal.  The steak was delicious but unfortunately the vegetables were cold.  That was ok, because we still had a great evening and ended it by chatting and having a great time in the resort's garden bar.
Dress - BB Dakota, Bracelet - Toose's, Shoes - Nine West
This dress was a great one to wear that evening, as it was still quite warm and kept me cool.  Looking at these pictures makes me exited for summer but for right now I am looking forward to spring!  Hope you are all having a lovely Tuesday!

LBD #3

Yes this is the 3rd little black dress I have featured on here.  This photo is from a couple of weeks ago when we were having our cold winter weather and it also gave me a chance to wear my fleece lined tights.  LBD are great for work and so simple to add colour to with a scarf, jewellery or shoes.  I opted to add my colour here with my pink Nine West pumps.

Since it was a chilly day I decided to pair this dress with a black cardigan.  I definitely have too much black in my winter wardrobe and have decided to remedy this, this spring season.  I also want to add some coloured cardigans to my closet and spotted some Joe Fresh ones this weekend.  I will definitely be picking some of those up.

This dress was given to me by my sister, Carla.  When I was shopping this fall I wanted a new LBD to add to my closet and she was cleaning hers out and gave this to me.  At first I wasn't sure how much I would wear it, but it has been perfect for work.  Thanks Carla, xoxox.
Dress - c/o my sister(Carla), Tights - Plush, Shoes - Nine West, Braclet - H&M, Cardigan - RW&Co.

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments last week, it means a lot to me.  Hope you all enjoy this lovely first day of spring!!

A Grey Day

Spring is upon us here in New Brunswick.  It is so nice to see the snow banks melting and the warmer weather coming.  I wore this outfit yesterday and because of the warmer weather I was able to take a few outside photos.  It was a grey day that looked like it was going to rain but ended up clearing off.
I was also happy because I got to wear my We Love Colours tights that I had orderd a few weeks ago with Barb, Emma , Chelsea and a couple of other local gals.  These tights are so nice and great quaility, that when my dog jumped on me he didn't even snag them.  I was also able to wear them that evening to teach dance; great quality and versatile.

This outfit also is featuring the sweater I ordered from Lulu's after I saw it on Kate's blog.  When I saw how she styled it I loved it, and found a way I could wear it for work, and work it into my wardrobe.  Be sure to check out how she wore it here.
I love the lacey details on this Jack by BB Dakota sweater and the pop of colour these red We Love Colours tights give this outfit.  It was also a great opportunity to wear my new Seven for All Mankind Shoes that I got at Marden's.
Top - Jack by BB Dakota, Belt - Smart Set, Skirt - RW&Co., Tights - We Love Colours, Shoes - 7's
I really like this outfit and a lot of my co-workers were suprised by the bright colour but they said they really liked it.  I can't wait to wear my We Love Colours tights again and I need to get some more colours, I am loving the coloured tight trend.  Happy Friday everyone, hope you all enjoy this last weekend of winter!!  As the first day of Spring is Monday!!!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Vince Camuto

A couple of weeks ago I was shopping with a friend uptown to help her find an outfit for a 100th birthday party that she had to attend.  I took her to Je Suis Prest to find and dress and to Manchester shoe salon to find shoes to go with her outfit.  While we were at Manchester shoe salon I found a pair of shoes that I fell in love with!
These are Vince Camuto Amber shoes.  They come in black or tan.  The leather on the shoes is so unbelieveably soft, that when I slipped them on it was like the leather was melting into my foot.  I am hoping to add these to my wardrobe!  I can't wait to break out the spring shoes soon!  Happy St. Patrick's Day!  May the luck of the irish be with you!!

Purple Rain

First of all I would like to apologize for not doing a tropical Tuesday post yesterday.  After arriving home around midnight on Sunday from our latest trip, working all day Monday and Tuesday, I didn't get a chance to do one up.  I promise next Tuesday's post will feature shots from our trip last week.

This outfit is another one of my casual friday outfits.  It wasn't actually raining this day but it had that grey rainy feeling outside.
As you can see my dog was wondering around again in this shoot.  I couldn't cut him out of this one, but I really liked this photo, so I hope you don't mind seeing him there.
I really like this tank and bought it to add some sparkle and colour to my outfits.  I seem to be wearing a lot of purple lately!  The earrings I am wearing with this outfit are one of my favorite pairs.  I bought them at our local campus market which is put on every year by our entrepreneurship class at the school I teach at.  They have to design a product and sell it at a market that staff and students attend.  I look forward to the campus market every year to see what neat things they have made.

Jeans - !it Jeans, Boots - Steve Madden, Tank - Gap, Blazer - RW&Co., Bracelets - Smart set, Earrings - made by students at KVHS
I am so excited for spring, not only for the colours, but also to be able to take outfit photos outside!  Thanks for stopping by and for leaving your comments, I really appreciate your kind words!  Hope you are having a great week and that spring has sprung where you are!
