Gorgeous

All my friends know how much I love shoes.  So much so that they have started to send me pictures of shoes that they think I would love.  These are ones that were sent to me by my lovely friend Tracey.  She certainly shares my love of shoes.  I don't think I would ever be able to afford these but they certainly are beautiful.  These are made by Azzedine Alaia.  You can check them out here and be sure to click on the $ symbol to see how much they are.

I love the zipper detail on the back as well as all the loops of white suede.  Makes me want to wear my pretty summer heels.  These would be perfect paired with a bright sun dress.  What shoes do you want for summer?

Blog Makeover

Over the past few weeks you may have noticed my blog getting a makeover.  Thanks to the lovely Tieka of Selective potential for all her hard work.  The photos for my header were taken in February at my parent's place.  It was very cold, but it is so beautiful there!  I felt that these photos represented the part of Canada I am from, the east coast and how cold it can be.  Here are a few of the shots I chose not to use and some shots of the beach by their house.

Tropical Tuesdsay

These photos are from 2 years ago when my brother in law got married in Orlando, Florida at the Ritz Carleton hotel over the Easter weekend.  It was a fancy affair and was so hot!  Unlike the spring weather we are having here right now.  Here are some photos from this gorgeous day.

My hubby was one of the best men and yes they kept their tuxes on the whole time for the outdoor wedding.  I was very warm in my dress; I can't even imagine how warm the groomsmen were in those tuxes.  I was glad to have my sister there though to hang out with between the wedding and reception.  As you can see it was not only a beautiful day but the grounds at the hotel are beautiful as well.

Easter Wishes

While browsing ModCloth this beautiful Easter Monday, I came across some very feminine pieces perfect for spring.  I am loving all the soft ruffles, and lace details on this outfit.  I am also loving the pastel colours, reminding me of spring.  I can't wait until our weather warms up so I can pull out some of my spring dresses and shoes!  Maybe this is what I should have told the Easter bunny to bring me : ).

Blue Bow

Please forgive me ladies for being a bad blogger this week and not posting as much as I usually do.  I am recovering from some sort of flu bug and am now coming down with a cold.  So I am going to be using this long weekend to rest and recover.  What are your plans?

This outfit is from a few weeks ago and is a work outfit.  I love the bright blue colour of this shirt and the bow detail at the neckline.  I am loving all the bright colours this season!

Tropical Tuesday

Sorry for not posting as much this week as I usually do, I have not been feeling the best.  But I wanted to bring you lovely ladies a post so here is a few photos from our trip to Dominican Republic this March break.  These were from the 2nd night we went to the Japanese restaurant at our resort.  I am wearing a Jack by BB Dakota dress that I won in the silent auction at Je Suis Prest Boutique's Holiday Party.

The resort had a gorgeous gazebo that we saw many weddings take place in that week.  It was the perfect location for photos.  I also love this little dress.  The bottom half of the dress has to be my favorite part and yes, this is red dress #3 for me this year.

One of a Kind

My sister Stephanie, was looking for a new pair of shoes to wear to the ECMA's this week (East Coast Music Awards) however, she couldn't find anything in her size.  She wanted something kind of new to wear.  So I talked to her and told her to wear a pair of black heels, and she told me the only pair she has had a really badly scuffed heel.  So we decided to give them a overhaul.  I am a scrapbooker and put some of those skills to work.  Here they are part way through.

Part way through we realized we would not have enough bling to cover the whole heel so we decided to add a strip of ribbon to go with her dress and add a bit of colour to the heels.

To finish it off we used more bling and filled in the exposed heel with stickles.  This totally gave these shoes a new look and to finish them off we polished them up.  Stephanie had a unique new pair of shoes! 

Here is Stephanie modelling the finished product.  Not only would they look cute with a dress but I really love how they looked with these jeans!  I am sure you rocked them this week at the ECMA's Steph!  It was so fun to design a pair of shoes, I really enjoyed the process!  What would you do if you were designing a pair of shoes?

Tropical Tuesday

These photos are from our trip this year as well, featuring a red dress that I wore to the buffet.  Yes, another red dress.  This is red dress #2 for this season.  It is the perfect dress for travelling as it is that comfy cotton material.

The ribbons you see in the background on the poles were part of the decorations for their Dominican Theme night.  There were also blue and yellow ribbons.  As soon as I saw the poles with the red ribbons I knew I had to get my picture taken by them.

Lady in Red

Red is a colour I am gravatating towards this season.  I have purchased 3 dresses in this colour plus this shirt.  There is just something about red that stands out to me and makes a statement.  I am loving a bright red lip too, something I don't usually wear except during dance performances.  I love this colour.

These pictures are from a couple of weeks ago and right before I took these I was having breakfast.  I am not sure if you can see or not the wet spot on my skirt in the first picture, as I had to wash some of my oatmeal off because I spilled it.  When I first took these photo and looked at them on my camera I couldn't see the spot, but now I certainly can.  

I first saw this shirt last summer when I was at the Miss New Brunswick pageant.  One of the girls had it as part of their casual wear and I immediately fell in love with it.  So on my way home from the pageant I stopped and picked it up at the mall as it is perfect for work.  It came with a skinny belt but I like to pair it with a wide belt at times just to change things up a bit.

Snowy Sunday

Last weekend on Friday we got a snow storm, and it continued right into Saturday.  I think it was just a way to remind us that we weren't quite fully into spring yet.  So on Sunday when I took these pictures, the snow was melting but there was still quite a bit of the white stuff on the ground.

This dress from Forever21 was the perfect outfit for running around town this past Sunday.  First my hubby got delayed on Friday night from the storm, and his flight got in on Sunday morning, so I went and met him at the airport.  Then we spent the afternoon running errands and getting groceries.  This dress was so comfy and pairing it with leggings made it great or this cool spring day.  The dress even came with the belt, love forever 21 stuff!  This was one of the dresses from the order my sister and I put in.

Here are some close ups of the outfit.  The thing that drew me to this dress was the bow at the neckline and the aged belt.  This sage colour is different than anything I have in my closet, so I felt it was a great addition!

I am loving this tan shade for summer.  These shoes are very similar to the ones from Blowfish Shoes I featured last week.  This is Aldo's version of it, one of our local shoe places (well fairly local for me, just over an hour away).  The price is a little higher and it is slightly different with a heel instead of a wedge.  Which do you think would be more comfortable/appropriate for summer, this pair or Blowfish wedge?

Je Suis Prest's 2nd Birthday Bash!

Last Friday, April 1st was the 2nd birthday celebration for my favorite store in Saint John, Je Suis Prest Boutique.  Kiera and the Prest girls had a fabulous evening planned for us all.  It started off by meeting at the store where they had people to do our hair and make-up, as well as you could pick out an outfit to purchase and wear that night!  Here is a picture of me and my sister before we got our hair and make-up done.

Here I am by the accessory section in the store after I had my hair and make-up done.  Thanks to Adam for doing my hair and  to Virgina from Ang and Sal for doing my make-up they did an awesome job!  My hair (it is kind of hard to see), is in a side fish tail, looking messy but put together, I loved it!  I also love the pop of colour that my We Love Colors tights gave this outfit!
