What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas

For today's Tropical Tuesday post I take you back almost 2 summers ago to our week in Vegas.  My sister decided to get married there at the Mandalay bay hotel, so we made a fabulous vacation out of it and have gone back every summer.  We certainly have caught Vegas Fever.  The pictures below were taken from the Bellagio with Paris Paris hotel in the background.  This was a great dress to wear while walking the strip as it was cool and comfortable in the August heat.

The photo below is of me and my sisters in front of the Bellagio fountains.  They are a great free show to see while in Vegas.  See them in the daytime and then be sure to go back at night to see the same show but lit up.

Castelum

The feeling of having your toes in a pair of sandals, that first warm day, with no tights on, is simply heaven.  I can't wait for sandal season to get here, but while I wait I can browse for some new sandals.  I came across these sandals when my mom was at my house for Mother's day.  She purchased them from Aldo and I fell in love.  The brown colour is very neutral and perfect to pair with those summer outfits.  The shorter heel also works great for summer strolls.  These shoes are also available in black and white.

Charity Chic!

On Saturday, I had the awesome opportunity to attend Charity Chic, a clothing swap in support of Romero house.  This was a great chance to clean out my closet, donate some clothes and then go shopping for some new things all in support of a great cause.

You were given swap dollars to spend while there, so not only could you buy clothes, shoes and purses but you could also go to different stations and get some things done.  First you could have your make-up done.



You could get your nails done!  Check out all those pretty bright spring colours!

You could also purchase candy and some water.  In my opinion Emma's son had the sweetest job of them all!

There were racks, upon racks of clothing and in the pictures below not everything was out!!  They were still pricing and putting stuff out when I left around 2pm and it went until 5pm!  I managed to pick up the blue dress seen in the first photo, a brand new pair of dress shorts for work (they still had the tags on them) and and a new cream coloured blouse.

There were also some great pairs of shoes.  Unfortunately none in my size.

This really was a fabulous event!!  Hats off to Dominique, Emma and the rest of their team for organizing this!!!  If you missed this event you will not want to miss it next time, so many great finds!  I will be sure to share mine with you as soon as my dress is back from the dry cleaners.  Dominique also announced today that they raised $500 for Romero house, so awesome!!  Great work ladies and fashionistas!

Jimmy Choo

Jimmy Choos are a pair of my dream shoes.  I hope someday I will own a pair.  These shoes are the perfect colour for summer and spring.  Coral is so pretty and feminine.  These platform sandals are very tropical chic,  and are made with supersoft nubuck suede.

Working Woman

I love the bright fun colours in this top.  This is one of my favorite spring tops, it has such a fun pattern and the bow adds a feminine touch.

These shoes are also so much fun.  They heel is very high but I did wear them all day teaching.  A lot of my collegues ask how I can wear them all day but after doing it a few times you get used to it and I try to wear them a day when I know I won't be on my feet the whole time.  Usually, I wear these on test days.  I am also so glad I purchased this bracelet in Toronto last summer as it goes with so much stuff.  The colour is just perfect.  Hope you are all having a lovely week!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Tropical Tuesday - Toronto

My sister used to live in Toronto, and her apartment was a 4 minute walk to the Eaton Center.  We did some awesome shopping there!  She has since moved back here (and as happy as I am to have her back here) I do miss having the opportunity to go to Toronto each year and go shopping.  These photos are from our first trip out to visit my sister.  This night we travelled downtown to the Medevil Times Dinner Theatre.  This was such a great time and each section had a knight; and our knight won!

Sunny Mornings

I love the mornings when I wake up and can see the sun rising over the water when I look out from our deck.  This morning was no exception, a beautiful sunrise and a perfect morning for taking pictures.

Tropical Tuesday - Miss NB

Woodstock, New Brunswick is not a verY tropical place.  However, compared to the fog of Saint John it can feel like a tropical haven when you go there in the summer.  Each summer since 2001, I venture to Woodstock for a few days to help out with the Miss New Brunswick pageant.  Since I was Miss NB in 2001- 2002 I have met many amazing young women from around the province.  I am so honoured to be able to go back and help out with an organization that gave me such an amazing experience.  Here are some photos from last summer's pageant:
