Photo Adventure

Last week I had the wonderful pleasure of having my photos taken by the fabulous Emma of Full of Fabulous and Darling Dilemma.  You may remember our last photo adventure that took place uptown at the end of March; these photos were much warmer but just as much fun!  We chose a different location this time.  The first place we went was a set of railroad tracks on the west side.
While we were on the railroad tracks I wanted to see if I could stand on the rails with my heels, well lets just say it wasn't very successful, but it was fun to try.  You can see me trying in the photos below and then giving in to taking off my shoes.  You can also get a little peek at my baby bump in the 2nd photo.

I also had the pleasure of modelling Emma's newest creations, baubles.  These are so elegant and unique.  I am definitely going to be purchasing one.  The one below is not listed in her etsy shop yet but you can check out the rest of her baubles here.  The one I am wearing has a combination of beautiful pale green and burgandy beads.  The baubles are my new favorites!!  Each one contains a unique combination of beads.

After the railroad tracks we went to a second location but you will have to tune in later this week to see where that is, and it also features another one of Emma's baubles.  A huge thanks to Emma again for taking these amazing photos!  Check back tomorrow for the winner of my August giveaway!  Thanks for stopping by and hope all of you on the East coast are safe from hurricane Irene!

Scarves

Yesterday my sister and I spent the afternoon shopping in Moncton.  One of the main reasons for our trip was to go to H&M.  While browsing their racks we came across alot of animal prints, specifically leopard print.  However, in their maternity section they did not have any leopard print but I did find a super cute leopard print tube scarf.  Here are a few of my favorites that I was eyeing on-line before we went shopping.  However, H&M had the more afordable option at $14.95.

Moose on the Beach

My parents live right on the coast, next to the ocean.  The water that you see in my header is a photo on their beach.  It is a very beautiful place, especially in the summer.  Last Saturday my parents had the whole family down for supper and we even had a special visitor while we were there.  A moose decided to come visit and spend sometime on the beach in front of their house before taking a swim in the water to the island on the other side.

It was also very hot last Saturday there and so I chose to wear one of my favorite BB Dakota dresses for the day to keep me cool.  This dress is so versatile as it is very easy to dress up or dress down, and super comfy!

Carrie

If you follow me on Twitter and my Thursday shoe posts you know that I have been on the hunt for leopard print shoes for the fall season.  I had also ruled out heels because of of our little one expected to arrive in December.  However, one of our local uptown shoe shops, Manchester Shoe Salon, has been posting their new falls arrivals and I feel in love with a pair of their guess heels.  The Carrie pump is simply amazing, yes the heel is roughly 4" but I can still wear them now.  I put them on layaway so I can slowly pay them off.

I still am going to look for a pair of animal/leopard print flats.  Hopefully, I will find a pair of those in the next few weeks.  Be sure to check out all of Manchester shoe's fall arrivals on facebook as they have tons of great shoes and bags arriving all the time!

The Search Continues...

For fall I have been on the hunt for a coloured cardigan and it is proving to be rather difficult.  While there are many gorgeous neutral cardigans out there, coloured ones seem to be harder to come by.  However, last night while I was browsing one of my favorite brands, BB Dakota, I may have found an alternative.  I found a super cute blazer in a lovely shade of pink, which is the exact colour I wanted the cardigan in.

I am hoping I will see this jacket in stores soon, as I think it will replace my coloured blazer I am searching for.  I love the flaps for pockets and the 2 small button detail where the jacket closes.  What is your must have for fall?

Fresh Cut Grass

This morning I took to my back yard to do some outfit photos.  Little did I remember that my dear hubby had just mowed the lawn yesterday afternoon.  Fresh cut grass, some damp weather and suede booties don't really go well together, but I unfortunately did not realize this until after I had done the photos.  I am happy to say the booties survived.  Today's outfit is definitely not my favorite but was great for kicking around the house on this lazy hazy day.

Date Night

This outfit was worn for my date Saturday night with my Hubby.  We went out to the movies and saw "Captain America".  It was a very good movie and in 3D.  I quickly snapped these photos of my outfit before we went out the door to make a run to Bulk Barn for some candy for the movie.

We are going to have a quiet weekend this weekend and finish cleaning out our spare room for baby that will be arriving in December.  However, we did see some great previews for movies coming out in the future when we were at the movies last weekend.  Hope you all have a great weekend and the sun is shining where you are!  Don't forget to enter my giveaway here!

AJ Valenci

Yesterday's post featured an outfit I wore shopping with my mom last week.  Today's shoe post is all about the great pair of shoes I got for $9 at Marden's on that shopping trip.  These shoes are made by AJ Valenci and are a bit of a cross between a wedge and a pump.  I love the mix of the snakeskin and silver leather.  Yes these shoes are all leather and were only $9.  These shoes will be a great pair to transition into fall and are super comfortable for work.  All of their summer shoes are currently on sale.  I am hoping to make another trip down before the end of the summer.

Shopping Day!

On Friday last week I had the pleasure of spending the day with my Mom.  Each year we take a day and go to the shops in St. Andrews, have lunch there and then usually go to Calais if we have time.  And of course, our trips to Calais always feature a stop at Marden's.

This dress was comfy and cool for the day of shopping.  The jacket was perfect for the cool breeze while we were in St. Andrews.  However, once we got to St. Stephen/Calais that cool air disappeared and it was so warm.  While in Calais, we went to Marden's  and of course the first stop we made was at their shoe department.  I had a great find; a pair of leather shoes for $9 (watch for tomorrow's shoe post to feature these)!  If you are heading over anytime soon all their summer shoes are marked down. I also found a pair of Kate Spade NY heels there that I loved for only $60, but they were a half a size too big.  You never know what you are going to find at Marden's.

I returned home that night to go to the Je Suis Prest Fall Launch Party with my sister.  There are are so many gorgeous pieces coming out for fall and they have more to come.  I can't wait to see the rest of the gorgeous fall pieces Kiera gets in!  This certainly was a perfect shopping day.  What would be your perfect shopping day?

Rainy Day Coffee Date

What a better way to spend a rainy morning but sipping a starbucks coffee with a friend and chatting.  This rainy Monday I met up with fellow blogger and friend Emma, of Full of Fabulous.  We had a great time chatting and catching up on our summers.  Then we headed over to one of our local shoe stores, Manchester Shoe Salon, to check out their sale.  It is a great one if you haven't been there already, get 50% OFF your 1st pair and 75% OFF your 2nd pair.  Stop in soon as these will go fast!

It may have been pouring rain (and forcast to do so all week until Thursday) but it was still warm enough to wear shorts and the perfect opportunity to break out these shorts I got at Charity Chic in May.  I apologize for the indoor outfit photos but wanted to have some new ones for you.  Unfortunately, it is looking like all my outfit photos will be inside this week, but there is still lots of summer left to get out in the sun!
One of the things I love the most about this coat is the pattern on the inside.  It is so fun and was totally unexpected when I first picked this up.  This jacket will also be great to wear into the fall as I transition into maternity clothes.  Also this outfit was the perfect opportunity to wear my Darling Dilemma earrings.  Be sure to check out Emma's shop for some unique and gorgeous pieces.

Hope you are having a great start to your week and that your Monday was great.  Don't forget to check out my giveaway here, it closes August 26th!

Leopard print - Haylie

Once again this season leopard print is in and so I have made a pair of these shoes on my must have list for fall.  Here is a great pair of leopard print heels made by Chinese Laundry and available at Zappos.com for only $79.96, what a great deal!

However, for me I will not be able to purchase these heels and wear them this fall season.  I will be sticking to flats.  Why you ask?  Well, I have some exciting news....my husband and I are excpecting our first child in December.  I hope you will all continue to read along and follow with me as I start my style journey in the maternity world.  Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you are enjoying your weekend and don't forget to enter my August giveaway here!
